From Saturday 2nd to Monday 4th June apprentices and trainees from around Australia gathered at ICC Darling Harbour, Sydney to compete in the WorldSkills Australia National Championships 2018.

From Saturday 2nd to Monday 4th June apprentices and trainees from around Australia gathered at ICC Darling Harbour, Sydney to compete in the WorldSkills Australia National Championships 2018.

In highly competitive fields across a wide range of trades and skills, Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA) competitors from Victoria brought home six medals, including four gold and two bronze. Here at ASA we couldn’t be prouder!

From Victoria our GOLD MEDALISTS are:
  • Hayley Kellett – Retail Baking (Bread), The Deakin Bakery, Mildura
  • Patrick Keating – Plumbing & Heating, Phoenix Plumbing & Solar Hot Water, Bendigo
  • Thomas Neave – Joinery, Spence Construction, Geelong
  • Zak Biggin – Fitting, BGT Employment, Ballarat

Colloquially known as the Olympics of the trade and skills world, the WorldSkills International Competition is held biennially, with the most recent competition held in Abu Dhabi in October 2017.
