The NSW Government has announced a major increase in travel and accommodation subsidies for apprentices and trainees from Friday, July 1, 2016.
The Vocational Training Assistance Scheme (VTAS) accommodation subsidy will double from $28 per night to $56 per night, while the fuel subsidy will rise from 12c to 33c per kilometre.
Apprentices and new entrant trainees may be eligible for travel and accommodation assistance if they need to travel more than 120kms round trip to attend day or block release with their registered training organisation.
