A young Townsville apprentice employed by ASA client, Col Summerhayes Smash Repair, was nominated for Apprentice of the Month at the 2018 Motor Trades Association (MTA) Awards in Brisbane.
22-year-old Aydin Hammond, a third year automotive body technician, was one of 12 apprentices put up for the award, which was for all auto trades across Queensland, and was the first person from Townsville to be nominated.
The awards were given out during the annual MTA Queensland Industry Dinner event, which recognises the outstanding achievements of individuals and businesses across the Queensland automotive industry.
General Manager of Col Summerhayes, Damian Caddies, said it was “fantastic” to have the great work of a young person from the local area acknowledged at such a major event.
