WA Celebrating 20 years of Apprenticeship & Traineeship support

The 19th of July marked the celebration of CCIWA's Apprenticeship Support Australia delivering Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) services to the Western Australian (WA) community for 20 years.

Over the past 20 years, WA team at Apprenticeship Support Australia have serviced over 94,000 WA employers assisting them with the signing and administration of 256,000 apprentices and trainees from our 14 locations throughout the State. 

The WA team at Apprenticeship Support Australia would like to thank all the employers, training providers and government stakeholders who joined them last night for the anniversary celebration. The night, hosted by CCIWA CEO, Chris Rodwell, consisted of networking over food and wine, live music, fun photos and speeches, including a video speech from the Assistant Minister, for Education and Training, the Hon. Karen Andrews; and James Moran, National General Manager, Apprenticeship Support Australia.

The crowd were also inspired by Thalia Wilkinson, an Australian Apprenticeship Ambassador who shared her story of her journey to becoming an electrician.   Thalia commenced her electrical school-based apprenticeship whilst in Year 11, won WA School-based Apprentice of the Year in 2015 and was a finalist in the Australian Training Awards.  Thalia is due to complete her apprenticeship with D.E.C Electrical in a few weeks' time.

Apprenticeship Support Australia also acknowledged the 118 businesses who have continuously used its services over its operating lifespan.
