Creating your document, please wait…

The Information Technology Policy is a set of policies issued by an organisation that outline the rules and guidelines that all staff have to adhere to as part of working in an organisation and using its networks, systems, digital products or other technology. Whilst most of your employees are probably technology savvy and will naturally follow many of these rules, it pays out to put official documentation in place that reflects how your organisation wants to operate in this space.

Important Information

What does the Information Technology Policy cover? This Information Technology Policy covers:

  • Application
  • Statement of intent
  • Overview of email, internet, computer equipment and other devices
  • Surveillance
  • Confidentiality and privacy
  • Failing to comply with this Policy

Sharing the Information Technology Policy

You should provide the employee with a copy of the Information Technology Policy and ask for them to acknowledge its contents.

Note

ASA is pleased to present these simplified plain English policies and documents. We have prepared these documents as a result of feedback from subscribers and businesses. Sometimes businesses and their employees find detailed policies (or documents) unnecessarily complex and quite frankly, boring.

However, as a result of simplifying these policies/documents, it is important to be mindful as to whether they are appropriate for your business and whether they suit the circumstances for your employees. The idea behind providing you with an option of plain English policies/documents is to best serve the outcomes you desire for your business.

Why can I access these specific 4 documents?

You spoke, we listened. Over the last few years, we've received frequent feedback from our clients that they have particularly struggled with sourcing or compiling the content included in these 4 documents. They are also the documents that are most commonly used across businesses in Australia. We hope providing these for free will make your lives a little easier.
