Apprenticeships Support Australia, Empowered Women in Trade (EWIT), Carpentry Australia and Bunnings are hosting a Women in Trades Networking Event at Bunnings Preston in Melbourne.

This event is open to all women and non-binary people in non-traditional and male-dominated trades. At our inclusive event you can connect, learn about career development opportunities, enjoy yummy food and win great door prizes!

Attendees can meet inspiring peers, gain industry contacts and make lasting connections.

How EWIT and Apprenticeships Support Australia can help

Empowered Women in Trades (EWIT) champions tradeswomen, diversity and gender equality, with a mission to transform the trades industry by empowering women and non-binary people in skilled trades, whilst fostering a culture of inclusivity.
In collaboration with educational institutions and industry leaders, EWIT aims to increase women’s participation in learning the trade skills required for individuals and the industry to thrive.
Apprenticeships Support Australia is contracted by the Australian Government to aid apprentices, trainees and employers with a range of support services in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. These include: 

  • Signing up apprentices and facilitating the national training contract 
  • Mentoring apprentices to help them to completion 
  • Mentoring employer to help them build their capability and capacity to retain and complete apprentice 
  • Assess and administer the Apprenticeship Incentive program/system, as well as troubleshooting assistant to get access to the government claiming system 
  • Specialised and enhanced services for women entering into a male-dominated trade 
  • Career advice for job seekers.
