ASA partners with QLD Chamber to support small to medium businesses

Charleville workshop helps local businesses tackle recruitment challenges.

Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA) joined forces with the QLD Chamber to deliver a recruitment masterclass in Charleville, giving small businesses the chance to explore modern hiring strategies and discuss the realities of living and working in outback Queensland.

Held in partnership with the Shire of Murweh, the free workshop attracted local businesses, including a part-time date farmer, a tour guide, a meat exporter, and an aviation trainer. Attendees shared their experiences and challenges, while ASA and QLD Chamber offered practical solutions to support recruitment and workforce growth.

The event is part of a QLD Government initiative, delivered in partnership with the QLD Chamber, to provide rural communities with hands-on support. Alongside masterclasses on recruitment, marketing, and apprenticeships, the workshops also highlight government funding available to small businesses.

The Charleville session was opened by the Acting CEO of the Shire of Murweh, followed by Isabella Crombie-Tait, Workforce Coach, and ASA representatives Jason Foster and Sanja Buncic.

ASA’s ongoing partnership with the QLD Chamber will help small businesses understand how apprenticeship and traineeship pathways can address skills shortages and provide long-term workforce solutions. Through this collaboration, ASA will provide members with guidance on state and federal funding opportunities while helping to match businesses with apprentices and trainees.

The Charleville workshop is just the beginning! ASA and the QLD Chamber will continue their regional roadshow, with the next stop set for Goondiwindi.
