Apprenticeship Support Australia is proud to be a specialist provider for First Nations apprentices and trainees. We support employers and apprentices across Western Australia, Newcastle & Central Coast, Western Sydney, and the Illawarra through the Australian Government’s Australian Apprenticeship Support Services.
Our goal is to help create more inclusive and culturally safe workplaces. We work closely with you and your apprentice to understand and support the unique challenges faced by First Nations apprentices, making the apprenticeship system more welcoming and empowering for mob.
Our First Nations Specialist Team can support you with:
By creating a more culturally inclusive and diverse workplace, you strengthen your business and build stronger relationships with your apprentices.
Each First Nations apprentice gets a personal support plan to help them manage challenges at work. We’ll guide you how to support your apprentice and explain the obstacles they may face at work.
Apprentices can join community yarn sessions led by our mentors to connect with other First Nations apprentices, share stories and learn more about culture in a safe and supportive space.
Our mentors are proud First Nations people who’ve done the journey themselves. They understand the role of culture at work and help build respectful, supportive, and culturally safe workplaces.
When your apprentices are referred to our First Nations Specialist Program, your business can enjoy a range of benefits:
First Nations people bring new ideas and different ways of thinking, helping your team become more creative and effective at problem solving.
By supporting your First Nations apprentices with our specialist services, they feel empowered. This leads to higher completion rates and more experienced staff for your business.
Create a workplace that is inclusive, respectful and welcoming for everyone. A positive environment for First Nations helps the whole team work better together.
