Apprenticeship Support Australia is proud to be a specialist provider for First Nations apprentices and trainees. We support both employers and apprentices across Western Australia, Newcastle & Central Coast, Western Sydney, and the Illawarra, through the Australian Government’s Australian Apprenticeship Support Services.
Our goal is to help create workplaces that are inclusive and culturally safe. We work with you and your employer to understand and support the unique challenges that First Nations apprentices may face, making the apprenticeship system more welcoming and empowering for mob.
Our First Nations Specialist Team is here to guide you every step of the way. We can help with:
We also help your employer learn more about First Nations cultures, including customs and language, to build stronger understanding and respect at work.
Once your employer refers you to us, a mentor will reach out to connect, understand your goals, and help navigate any obstacles you may face. Our First Nations Program is personal and completely driven by you, we're always here for a yarn when you need one.
Each First Nations apprentice gets a personal support plan to help manage challenges at work. From day one, you’ll have a team to talk to about mental health, money, harassment, and cultural support.
Join community yarn sessions led by our mentors, where you can connect with other First Nations apprentices, share stories and learn more about culture in a safe and supportive space.
Our mentors are proud First Nations people who’ve done the journey themselves. They’re here to share guidance, celebrate culture, and support you to grow in your career with confidence.
