Connecting young people with industry pathways in Ipswich

Apprenticeship Support Australia shows support for Flexi Schools at the Ipswich Flexi School Career Fair.

On Thursday, 4 September, Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA) joined the Ipswich Flexi School Career Fair, held at the Ipswich Community Grounds. The event brought together local employers, registered training organisations (RTOs), several Flexi Schools, and First Nations Community Elders to support and guide young people exploring future career options.

The annual Career Fair is an Edmund Rice Catholic Education initiative designed to connect Flexi School students with industry partners and open doors to new opportunities. This year marked ASA’s first involvement.

ASA’s participation is part of its broader school engagement plan, supporting Flexi Schools across Queensland. Earlier this year, ASA delivered presentations and worked with VET Coordinators at Inala and Albert Park Flexi Schools. The Ipswich event is one of many ways ASA is working to build stronger connections and pathways for Young People.

“Many of our Young People come from very challenging backgrounds and need all the help they can get. These events are an invaluable source of support with overcoming the challenges they are facing every day,” said Amanda Irwin, VET Coordinator at Inala Flexi School.

These continued collaborations reflect ASA’s commitment to supporting Flexi Schools and creating lasting opportunities and meaningful career paths for young people across Queensland.
