Meet your mentor: Supporting First Nations apprentices in Perth

Introducing Bailey Willis-Cunningham, our First Nations Specialist for Western Australia! Bailey is passionate about amplifying First Nations voices and creating meaningful change through self-determination and cultural strength.

"Hi, I’m Bailey Willis-Cunningham, a proud Yidinji & Kuku-Yalanji man from North Queensland with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage. 

"I’ve worked in the public sector supporting our communities, and now as the First Nations Specialist for the Perth Metropolitan Region, I focus on self-determination, cultural strength, and real change. My goal is to walk with our mob, amplify voices within workplaces, and create meaningful impact for our mob."

How we support employers of First Nations apprentices

When you sign your First Nations apprentices to our specialist program, they’ll receive recruitment support to assessment tools to help them achieve their goals and complete their training. You’ll also receive the opportunity to network with other businesses and help grow cultural connection and understanding. Our team will help you create strong workplace culture and inclusive workplace, leading to strong success for your apprentices and business.

How we support First Nations apprentices

With our specialist program, you’ll receive mentoring catered to your individual needs. Each apprentice receives a personal support plan to help navigate your training and accomplish your goals. You’ll also be able to join our Peer Support Group led by our mentors and connect with other First Nations apprentices across WA who also share your journey.
