Perth Business for Breakfast success

Apprenticeship Support Australia has hosted their third successful client breakfast in Perth, as part of their Business for Breakfast event series.

Hosted in partnership with the Australian Government’s Department of Employment, the event gave clients practical information on how to recruit job ready candidates, accessing government funding for training, and understanding how training can build the skills in their workforce.
Apprenticeship Support Australia WA Manager, Lena Constantine, said that the Business for Breakfast event offered clients an opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the Government programs and services available.

“We have partnered with the Department of Employment through our Business for Breakfast event to educate our clients about the federal government programs and services available to them and how these programs can support business growth,” says Constantine.

Guests listened to presentations on the current labour market conditions in Western Australia; the tailored recruitment services jobactive providers can offer; how to utilise the Australian Apprenticeship program in the workplace; and how to access the Industry Skills Fund programme.

A lively, facilitated discussion between employers, jobactive providers and the Department of Employment followed. Employers had the chance to tell the Department some of the challenges they are facing in the workplace.
