ASA backs Fairbrother’s 2026 apprentice intake

An exciting milestone for Fairbrother saw the company welcome its 2026 intake of apprentices across Devonport, Launceston and Hobart – the beginning of a new chapter for Tasmania’s next generation of tradespeople.

Apprenticeship Support Australia’s (ASA) Tasmanian team is proud to partner with Fairbrother as their chosen provider, supporting each new apprentice as they commence their training journey. The team assisted with signing apprentices into their training contracts and guided them through the extensive supports available – from mentoring to ongoing advice throughout their apprenticeship.

With both organisations sharing a genuine passion for equipping apprentices with the skills and confidence they need to succeed, the partnership continues to be a natural and impactful fit.

ASA thanks the Fairbrother team – Bree Woods, Luke Young, Heath Lovell, Brad Symmons, Jeremy West, Tim Mee and the entire crew – for hosting a series of exceptional sign up days.

ASA also extends its best wishes to all new Fairbrother apprentices for their journeys.

A legacy built on training and opportunity

For more than 50 years, Fairbrother has stood as a symbol of excellence in the Australian construction industry. From humble beginnings in Tasmania’s northwest, the company has grown steadily across the state and into Victoria, becoming a recognised leader in commercial construction.

Fairbrother’s commitment to apprentices runs deep. Just 18 months after opening its doors, the company employed its first apprentice in 1974, a decision that would shape its culture and values for decades. Over its first half-century, Fairbrother trained more than 400 apprentices, establishing one of the most respected apprenticeship programs in the country.

The Fairbrother Apprenticeship Program has been recognised multiple times for its outstanding contribution to skills development, including the Australian Apprenticeships – Employer Award (2020).

ASA State Operations Manager, Tasmania, Naomi Walker said: “With another enthusiastic cohort now stepping into their trades, the future looks bright – for Fairbrother, for the Tasmanian industry, and for the apprentices beginning an exciting new journey.”
