Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA), powered by CCIWA, was proud to attend the 2026 WA Training Awards presentation ceremony on 10 September, joining apprentices, trainees, employers, training providers and industry leaders to celebrate excellence across Western Australia's vocational education and training sector.
As category sponsor of the WA Apprentice of the Year Award, ASA was delighted to recognise the commitment, skill and determination of apprentices building the workforce our State needs.
Carly Shillam, Associate Director Industry Skills at CCIWA, presented the award to Georgia Shinnick, who completed a Certificate III in ESI - Distribution Overhead through Power Training Services WA while employed by Western Power.

It was especially rewarding to see ASA clients, and apprentices and trainees employed by our clients, achieve outstanding results across six categories:
These achievements reflect the strength of WA's apprenticeship and traineeship system and the value of employers investing in structured training, mentoring and meaningful career pathways. They also demonstrate the breadth of talent emerging across metropolitan and regional Western Australia, from utilities and construction to automotive and community services.
ASA congratulates every 2026 finalist and winner. We are proud to support apprentices, trainees and employers throughout their journey and to celebrate the people and organisations helping build a skilled, capable and diverse workforce for Western Australia's future.
