Under the new scheme, new VET FEE-HELP loans will close off at the end of 2016 to be replaced by a Student VET Loans program on January 1, 2017. The Student VET Loans program will only apply to eligible courses. New student engagement requirements will also come into effect from mid-2017.
All private VET FEE‑HELP providers, and any new providers, will be required to apply and meet new eligibility requirements to participate in the new student loans program.
