Celebrating our 2025 Australian Training Awards finalists

Seventy-five outstanding finalists have been announced for the 2025 Australian Training Awards, the national event that celebrates excellence and best practice across vocational education and training.

Winners from each state and territory training awards are invited to compete on the national stage, with some categories also open for direct entry. This year’s awards will take place on Friday 5 December at the Darwin Convention Centre.

Apprenticeship Support Australia is proud to support our finalists across three categories:

Apprentice of the Year Award

• Amber Leyshan, AGL (Loy Yang Power Station) - VIC

Trainee of the Year Award

• Tiarna Bricknell, McConnell Dowell - TAS
• Lili O’Connor, Programmed Skilled Workforce, Telstra - SA
• Jiwon Kwack, 1300Apprentice, ACT Education Directorate - ACT
• Elisajane Thompson, Toodyay Early Learning Centre - WA
• Imogen Young-Maloney, Wagga Wagga City Council - NSW

Australian School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year Award

• Cadie Doyle, Category 5, BHP Rail- WA
• Amali Rollinson, Blush Hair and Beauty Bar Bathurst – NSW
• Stavriana Taliadoros, Sunraysia Bread and Butter Bakery – VIC

We’re thrilled to see so many talented apprentices and trainees recognised on the national stage, and we’ll be cheering them on in December. Their hard work and commitment reflect the strength of the VET sector and the impact quality training can have on people, workplaces and communities.
