Minister for Employment, Workforce, Skills, Small and Family Business, the Hon Stuart Robert MP, has announced the $3.9 billion Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements program will extend support into the second and third year of eligible Australian apprenticeships through the $716 million Completing Apprenticeship Commencements program.
This endeavour will aim to ensure Australia’s continued economic recovery by expanding support to help apprentices complete their training and build the skills pipeline delivered under the Government’s successful Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements program.
What is the Completing Apprenticeship Commencements program (CAC)?
Eligible employers of apprentices or trainees supported under the Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements (BAC) program will transition onto the time-limited Completing Apprenticeship Commencements (CAC) wage subsidy for the second and third year of their apprenticeship.
Under the CAC, eligible employers will receive a wage subsidy of 10% of wages paid to an eligible apprentice or trainee in the second year of their apprenticeship (up to a maximum of $1,500 per quarter per apprentice).
Eligible employers will also receive a wage subsidy of five per cent of wages paid to an eligible apprentice or trainee in the third year of their apprenticeship (up to a maximum of $750 per quarter per apprentice).
