Indigenous Apprenticeships Programme

Apprenticeship Support Australia General Manager, James Moran, is urging enthusiastic, motivated, Indigenous Australians with an interest in public service to apply now to join the 2016 Australian Indigenous Apprenticeships Programme (IAP).

“There are a wide range of learning and training opportunities available across the Indigenous Apprenticeships Programme, through apprenticeships offered within the Department of Human Services, as well as with partner agencies across Australia,” Mr Moran says.

Participants in the 12-month programme train to achieve nationally-recognised Certificates or Diplomas in Government procedures, while receiving competitive salaries to work in positions within the Australian public service.
 
The program provides a tailored approach to learning, based on academic and cultural requirements, with opportunities to work in Human Services as well as:
 

Apprenticeships may be offered in the fields of policy and program development, service delivery or administration.

“If you are an eligible Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Australian interested in a career in Government service delivery you should apply via the online application before Wednesday, May 11, 2016,” says Mr Moran.
 

“The Indigenous Apprenticeships Programme is an amazing opportunity to kick-start a long-term career in Government.”
