Qld Government appoints Training Ombudsman

The Queensland Government has appointed Mr Geoffrey Favell as the Qld Training Ombudsman. The appointment follows legislation in April to establish an independent Queensland Training Ombudsman to act as a watchdog over the State’s vocational education and training sector.

The Training Ombudsman provides a free, confidential, and independent service to review and resolve enquiries and complaints from apprentices, trainees, students, employers and other stakeholders about the VET system.

The Training Ombudsman also advocates for the VET sector by reporting on systemic issues and advising the State Government on ways to improve the VET system.
