Watch: Finding Success in Non-Traditional Places

Tune in to SkillsOne Television to watch the vodcast episode Finding Success in Non-Traditional Places, featuring Melinda Davis, General Manager of Empowered Women in Trades.

In this episode, Melinda is joined by Almira Dall, a dairy farmer, and Lachlan Carey, an early childhood educator. Together, they share their experiences working in industries traditionally dominated by the opposite gender and the importance of challenging these norms.

As Melinda puts it, “Jobs themselves don’t have genders, its humans that have created that preconception. So early education, exposure, getting to try different things and really starting to break down what someone in that industry looks like and focus more on what skills does a person who works in that industry needs.”
