Nominations open for Queensland Training Awards

Nominations are now open for individuals and organisations across Queensland to enter the 2026 Queensland Training Awards.

Celebrating 65 years in 2026, the Queensland Training Awards recognise the apprentices, trainees, vocational students, teachers and trainers, training providers and employers who are shaping Queensland’s skilled workforce.

Most award categories are entered at a regional level, with individual and employer nominees competing locally before progressing to the state awards. State winners then go on to represent Queensland at the Australian Training Awards.

Award regions

Award categories are contested across seven regions:

  • Central Queensland
  • Darling Downs South West
  • Metropolitan
  • North Coast
  • North Queensland
  • South East
  • Tropical North Queensland

Regional winners automatically become state finalists in their nominated category.

Individual awards
  • Apprentice of the Year
  • Trainee of the Year
  • Vocational Student of the Year
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year
  • School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year
  • Equity Student of the Year
  • VET Teacher or Trainer of the Year

Organisation awards

  • Large Training Provider of the Year (state only)
  • Small Training Provider of the Year (state only)
  • Community Training Initiative of the Year
  • Large Employer of the Year
  • Small Employer of the Year
  • Premier’s Industry Collaboration Award (state only)

Nominations are open now and close at midnight on Sunday 22 March.
