On Saturday 27th August, Apprenticeship Support Australia had the privilege of sponsoring the Best Apprentice/Trainee Award at the 2016 Esperance Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Excellence Awards.

Apprenticeship Support Australia’s Esperance-based Industry Training Consultant, Cher Cole, attended the award ceremony and presented the award to the lucky winner, Rhys Bald from Farmers Centre.

Rhys, a plant mechanics and engineering apprentice, was recognised for his passion for his studies, and his commitment to continuing to advance his knowledge and skills.

He is highly motivated, always ensuring he’s up to date with new trends and developments in his industry, and continually looking for ways to upskill himself. Rhys was also commended for his attitude in the workplace – in particular his willingness to help others where necessary.

From an employer perspective, an exceptional apprentice or trainee demonstrates keen initiative to take on tasks in the workplace, well-developed communication and teamwork skills, a sense of responsibility for the tasks they carry out, and above all, a positive and proactive attitude.

It is these values which Apprenticeship Support Australia seeks to foster amongst apprentices and trainees, with the goal to build a successful relationship between employer and employee, which will hopefully set up the trainee for life.

Apprenticeship Support Australia is proud to continue its support for this award, and congratulates Rhys and Farmers Centre on their success.
