2026 Australian Training Awards direct entry nominations are now open

Nominations are now open for the 2026 Australian Training Awards, recognising excellence and innovation across the VET sector. Individuals and organisations are encouraged to apply or nominate others before entries close on 20 May 2026.

The Australian Training Awards are the peak national awards recognising best practice in vocational education and training. They celebrate excellence across the sector and play an important role in highlighting the value, impact, and opportunities that VET provides to individuals, businesses, and communities across Australia.

Each year, winners from state and territory training awards progress to compete for a national title at the annual gala event, held in Sydney in November. Alongside these finalists, individuals and organisations can also enter select categories through a direct entry pathway.

Direct entry categories open for nomination are:

  • Outstanding Achievement in the VET and Skills Sector Award
  • Innovation in VET Award
  •  Australian Apprenticeships Employer Award
  • School Pathways to VET Award
  • Excellence in Language, Literacy, and Numeracy Practice Award

These categories recognise those who are driving innovation, delivering high-quality training outcomes, and making a meaningful contribution to the future of skills and workforce development in Australia.

Nominations for direct entry categories can be submitted now on the Australian Training Awards website and close on 20 May 2026.

If you or your organisation are making a difference in the VET sector, now is the time to be recognised! Submit a nomination or encourage others in your network to apply and help showcase the outstanding work being done across the industry.
