Nominations open for the QLD 2027 Women in Manufacturing Apprentice Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2027 Women in Manufacturing Apprentice Awards, celebrating Queensland women apprentices who are making their mark in the manufacturing industry.

Queensland manufacturing employers are encouraged to nominate an outstanding apprentice for the 2027 Women in Manufacturing Apprentice Awards.

The awards recognise apprentices who demonstrate leadership, initiative and strong communication skills, highlighting the important contribution women are making to Queensland’s manufacturing workforce.

Two awards are available:

  • Leading Apprentice Award: $10,000
  • Highly Commended Apprentice Award: $5,000 (sponsored by Manufacturing Skills QLD)

Prize money can be used towards professional development, training, education, tools or uniforms to support recipients as they continue building their careers.

Creating opportunities for women in trades

Manufacturing is a diverse and evolving industry, with opportunities emerging across areas including advanced manufacturing, robotics and critical minerals processing.

Australian Apprenticeships can provide women with a practical pathway into rewarding careers across a wide range of industries, combining on-the-job experience with structured training and the opportunity to build valuable skills.

Awards such as these also provide an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women already pursuing careers in manufacturing and inspire more women to consider a career in the industry.

Nominate an outstanding apprentice

Do you know a woman apprentice who is making an impact in her workplace, demonstrating leadership or inspiring others? Nominations for the 2027 Women in Manufacturing Apprentice Awards close on 9 October 2026.

The winners will be announced at the Brisbane Women in Manufacturing Breakfast in March 2027, coinciding with International Women’s Day.
