Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA) has been selected to deliver a pilot program designed to help mature-aged Australians make a successful transition into the next phase of their careers.

“The free Skills Checkpoint Pilot has been developed for Australians aged 45 to 54 wanting to make informed decisions about their future career options,” says ASA General Manager, James Moran.

“People in this age range often feel uncertain about changing jobs, particularly if they have been working in one industry for a long time, and they may also be unsure about what skills they can offer, or even how to go about the job-searching process.

“The Skills Checkpoint Pilot is all about helping these workers understand their options and what they need to do to utilize their present skillsets to take advantage of the latest career trends.”

Mature workers who choose to join the pilot will receive an individualized career plan devised by expert advisors and will also have the chance to participate in career workshops on workforce trends, the latest job-seeking tools and future industry opportunities.

ASA will utilize the plethora of tools and resources on Skillsroad.com.au, to help roll out the program across New South Wales, Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory in early 2016.

“I would urge anyone who fits the age cohort, and who is looking for the chance to receive free, expert guidance on how to successfully navigate the next stage of their careers, to contact us now to find out how they can be one of the first to take advantage of this exciting new program,” James concluded.
