VRQA Apprenticeship Campaign

The BuildUP initiative is a campaign by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority aimed at safeguarding the rights of female apprentices in the building & construction sector. The focus is to ensure that every woman stepping into the construction industry feels protected, respected, and receives the training they deserve.

If you or someone you know feels they aren't being treated justly, you can call the BuildUP hotline at (03) 7022 5888 or email BuildUP@education.vic.gov.au.

The VRQA BuildUP hotline is available 9 am - 6 pm, Mon to Fri, for the next 8 weeks and you can leave an anonymous message anytime.

Let's ensure all women in construction apprenticeships; and all apprentices/trainees have:

  • A safe workspace

  • Appropriate supervision

  • Access to essential tools & equipment to learn the skills for their qualification

To further support the VRQA BuildUP campaign, Apprenticeship Support Australia provides In-Training Support Officers and a dedicated Women in Non-Traditional Trades Mentor that will continue to provide high level support and guidance for women in the construction industry.
